So when our son was young I used to accuse my wife of coddling him you're too soft he takes advantage of you he doesn't listen because you let him get away with things and then I grew up and as I began to change I had this realization.

All those years my wife had been coddling me.

Why? Because I couldn't control myself, even though I expected my son to. I'd get on him for not listening or having a meltdown when it was me who was actually having the bigger meltdown.
