0:29.7	chris i am originally from chicago illinois um so a lot of my stories actually go back to being a kid and growing up in Chicago.
0:39.8	I have a lot of stories, but I thought it might be a good idea to start with some history with me going all the way back to being a really small baby.
0:50.5	So first story, and this was told to me several times throughout my life by both my mom and my dad.
0:57.0	Newly wed, young, you know, young baby, about nine months old, finally moved out of, you know, the parents' house, get their own apartment down the alley.
1:08.0	And when they moved in, they were asked a couple times by the landlord
1:12.7	if anything weird had happened or you know if everything was okay and they were like yeah everything's
1:19.2	good um so they just kind of went on you know painting the apartment and fixing it up and they made
1:25.1	friends with the lady across the hall that had lived there for a very long time,
1:28.3	and she was an elderly lady.
1:30.2	And her name was Carol.
1:32.0	And she knew that my mom and dad were newlyweds, and they didn't have a lot of money.
1:35.5	So this was in the winter, right around Christmas.
1:38.8	She gave them a Christmas tree, and it had, you know, the lights and everything on it.
1:46.0	And my dad wanted the tree to blink in order.
1:48.9	Top, middle, bottom.
1:50.1	Top middle bottom was their goal.
1:53.6	So they struggled with it all night.
1:55.2	And my dad finally got frustrated and said, forget it.
1:57.3	The tree is just going to randomly blink, you know, or whatever happens, happened. So the tree was kind of just flashing on and off and kind of doing its own pattern,
