I'm Gianna Jalosi with your Fox True Crime Minute. After waiving extradition in Pennsylvania,

Luigi Mangione was brought back to New York

to now face federal charges in the December 4th killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

A new federal criminal complaint alleging charges of stalking, murder through the use of firearm

and federal firearms offenses, and alleges Mangione methodically, planned his attack for months,

keeping a notebook outlining the details for

wanting to whack an insurance CEO. The complaint reads in part, quote, in an entry marked as August

15th, the notebook described how the details are finally coming together, and I'm glad in a way

that I've procrastinated because it allowed me to learn more about United Healthcare.

The notebook entry also stated that the target is insurance because it checks every box.

The new federal case brings the potential for the death penalty back into the equation should Mangione be convicted.
