I'm Jared Halverson and today we're going to be covering Maroni 1 through 6.

The shortest chapters in the Book of Mormon all piled together. If you're a Jeopardy fan, I miss Alex Trebek as well, you may remember

sometimes there would be a category called Poporee and it was kind of, I don't know exactly why they called

it Poporee, but it was a compilation of questions that didn't really seem to fit under one specific category.

Kind of all thrown together. Maybe that's why they called it poppourri. A bunch of random things that somehow together smell really good.

It actually reminds me of a certain kind of talk that President Gordon B. Hinkley occasionally

gave in general conference, where rather than having one single theme that he developed throughout

the course of his talk.

He kind of jumped around from this topic to that, describing this issue in the church or this

thing that's happening around the world, and just addressing them all.

And I always enjoyed that potpourri approach,

to be able to discuss a lot of different issues,

each of which was important,

but none of which required a full length talk to develop.

Well, Moroni 1 through 6 in a way is Moroni's potpourri, each chapter addressing a specific

issue that is of great importance, but can be handled fairly briefly.
