Summary

When Lois McMillen was found dead on the British Virgin Island of Tortola in January 2000, four young American tourists were charged with her murder. The judge at the trial dismissed charges against all but William Labrador who was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Labrador’s mother claimed that police rushed to judgment in order to protect Tortola’s image and hoped he would be set free on appeal. “48 Hours" correspondent Susan Spencer reports. This classic "48 Hours" episode last aired on 8/13/2003. Watch all-new episodes of “48 Hours” on Saturdays, and stream on demand on Paramount+.
