This is our second time having Brandi on the pod, which I planned selfishly before I give birth because she just simply calms me down so deeply. Brandi is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Pediatric Sleep Specialist, Newborn Care Specialist, a Postpartum Doula, a mother of three, a founder of The Cradle Company and host of the Dear Doula podcast. Brandi's work as a consultant, parenting group leader, and in-home practitioner has led her to develop a unique philosophy of gentle parenting techniques that are a pragmatic, practical and healthy approach for the "whole" family. In 2018 Brandi founded the National Association of Birth Workers of Color. In this episode we discuss what a doula is, when and if you need one, what to look for in a doula, sleep schedule tips, adjusting your life to a baby and a baby to your life and MUCH more. I love this woman and will literally do anything she tells me. Her approach is so grounding and pragmatic.
