Nate Winterton is a beautiful soul. In this week's episode he takes us into his not too long ago past where he was living a completely different life than he is today. He was born and raised Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and served a Mormon mission. It was on his mission that he knew he needed to confront the skeletons in his closet, one of which was that he was a closeted gay man.

His story is heartbreakingly beautiful. Nate takes us into some of the darkest parts of his past in hopes to shine a light on some of the destructive and torturous practices that are still being practiced today: Conversion therapy.

Nate is a different man today than he was just a few short years ago. He is now fully out and a proud gay member of our society who is fighting to eradicate the dangerous and controversial Conversion Therapy practices that are still happening in some states across the USA, and is an advocate for Suicide Prevention and Awareness month.
