Jody Luray Cunningham is the author of Estrangement, Healing for Mothers and Daughters, and she has walked through the excruciating reality of being estranged from her own mother, as well as her own children, as well as finding reconciliation.

And she is passionate about helping people navigate these waters with integrity and walking close to the

Lord as you do it. And so today on the speak easy, we are having the difficult conversation

of what it is like to estrange from someone or be estranged from another, whether that is

within familial relationships or friendships, and what we can do in the meantime as those

relationships are broken in hope and in faith. And so if you have ever walked through anything

I am super excited to have Jody Cunningham with me today to talk about something that sucks.

I think that's the only way to say it.

We are talking about estrangement.

Her experience is specifically mother and daughters, but the reality is if you have

walked through this in any capacity, a lot of these topics and the encouragement and the

difficulty of it expands beyond what the

relationship is. I think this stuff can even make its way into friendships and into work relationships.

And so we both have experience with this. And so we're going to talk about what we've experienced

a little bit. But we kind of agreed before we started recording.

I think it's more important to focus on what God has done and what he has taught us and what he has shown us and how you can offer solidarity and encouragement to others.
