It was a kind of wildwood journey, a pilgrimage to Glenn Fesci, is what it was.

That's Neil Stewart there, artist and sculptor, showing me some of his rather beautiful linocuts.

That's me at my home at Glen Bena, which is near Walkerburn, which is near Peebles.

What I noticed a few years ago is that there's a sustrans or a national cycle route road,

just at the bottom of our track.

And I thought, well, you know, one day I really must, I really must explore, see how far that would go.

What I didn't realize or didn't think

about is that these kind of green corridors, which in a sense is what they are, could lead me all

the way to the care and gorns. I'm Mark Stephen, and in this edition of Scotland Outdoors, Neil

shares thoughts and memories from his wildwood journey, which he undertook by bike in 2020.

Now, it's the kind of thing I think most of us could do. It's not excessively long or extravagant,

but it's clear that the results for him, including artworks and audio recordings, have been very powerful,

and hopefully for you too. Neil and I met at Canoe Hill near Perth where he

explained the motivation behind the trip.
