This is going to be a fantastic show, but first I want to talk about the fact that it's

the holidays. It's time to celebrate. And what are we celebrating? We're celebrating

flu season. Apparently all we want to talk about is the fact that when it gets

cold outside and the full months move in, now we're going to talk about flu for months

and months and months, it feels like the flu season is just expanding. Eventually,

it's going to be like one of those, you know, sports seasons. Like does this thing ever

end when in the playoffs? When is it finally over? When do we get to see the end of flu season?

You know what I'm talking about? Ad nauseam on the news. This is what we're watching when

it comes to the flu.

Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Well, it's not too late.

Local health officials are encouraging North Texans to get that flu shot.

Dr. Stress, the best way to protect yourself as well as your family is to get that flu

shot. The vaccine is not perfect. It still has a significant benefit helping prevent complications

if you do get sick. Even if you get the flu after being vaccinated, experts say you're

light less likely to have such a severe flu. The vaccine helps prevent hospitalization.

And more importantly, it helps prevent death. It prevents hospitalizations. It keeps you

out of the ICU. You recover faster in the hospitalizations and it keeps you from dying.

You should get a flu shot.
