Hey listeners, as you all know from my interviews here on dark arenas, the world can be a dark place.

And through my years as an investigative journalist, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of the depths of the criminal justice system, the problems,

the scandals, and the issues, especially in the place I call home.

But then I started investigating a case that turned that assumption upside down.

Over the past year, I've turned back the clock to the early morning hours of a summer day in

1991 just outside of the tiny town of Williamson, North Carolina.

When a train conductor noticed something laying across the train tracks,

but that something turned out to be a someone.

27-year-old Douglas Wagg Jr. and questions about how or why he was found where he was

have never been answered, which may have been intentional. The longer I've been studying Doug's case,

interviewing investigators, key witnesses, loved ones,

and even my own father, the more small town secrets,

missing people, and conspiracy theories I've uncovered.

And I'm confident that just like me, while you're listening to this story, you won't see

the twists coming.
