1:09.7	And we are very excited to bring you the news.
1:12.1	Derek, let's start with probably the biggest news in the U.S. press this past week, which was
1:17.1	the passing of Pope Francis. So what happened? Did a Pope die? A Pope did die. Pope Francis
1:25.8	has been unwell for quite some time, as I'm sure people are aware.
1:30.1	He died on Monday. He had recovered. He'd been in the hospital with double pneumonia, very serious.
1:36.1	There was some concern. When he was in the hospital, he was never going to get out of it.
1:40.8	But he did. He did recover enough to resume some of his duties, but he died on Monday
1:46.0	after suffering, according to Vatican officials, a stroke and cardiac arrest. He was 88 years old.
1:53.2	As I said, he's been unwell for quite some time. This was not terribly surprising, although it was
1:57.7	somewhat sudden, given that he had recovered from his previous illness.
2:03.5	Among his final acts was a meeting apparently with the primordial ooze that calls itself J.D. Vance,
2:13.8	and I'm very sorry to him that that had to be one of his last acts on earth, I have to say.
2:20.2	That is not the way I would want to go out.
2:22.2	I feel like knowing you were maybe one of the last officials to meet with him before he died.
2:26.4	Yeah, you know, I've thought a lot about that.
