This week the Lautners are joined by former Dance Moms star Nia Sioux! Nia starts off by sharing how she started working with Seize the Awkward and explains what her goals are for the Capture the Convo campaign! She explains her passion for spreading mental health awareness and gives some insightful tips for those who feel anxious about discussing their mental health with friends. Nia then reflects back to her time on the hit reality show Dance Moms, shedding light on both the positive and negative impact that the show had on her childhood and the challenges of distinguishing real life from scripted TV at such a young age. Nia shares what her relationship with dance has looked like post-show and opens up about her decision to address her absence from the Dance Moms reunion on social media. Finally, Nia candidly discusses her struggles with body image that started at a young age and how she has learned to overcome and cope with negative thoughts.
