been clinically diagnosed as a sociopath. He has reportedly put himself through a lot of

therapy in order to not be an asshole, not my words, and by all indications, I can see he has

succeeded. He is not an asshole. He's happily married. He has a stable job. He expresses empathy

appropriately. If he hadn't made that comment about his diagnosis years after I was introduced to him,

I wouldn't have noticed anything that would have made me wonder.

He also went through a tremendous amount of abuse and childhood.

How are people like him diagnosed?

It's also possible that the clinician diagnosed him with psychopathy or antisocial, which are related terms or overlapping terms or synonymous in some circles, the sociopathy.
