Summary

Nikki Haskell steps Behind The Rope. Living Legend, Icon, Socialite, Talk Show Host, Real Estate Savant, Entrepreneur, Stockbroker, Studio 54 Regular. Checking in from her home in Los Angeles, Nikki chats about her bi-coastal life where she splits her time between LA, where she grew up, and NYC, where she worked as one of the only female stockbrokers on Wall Street at the beginning of her career. Nikki may have been trading by day, but was a permanent fixture at night at the legendary Studio 54. Nikki chats about what those days were like, the Studio 54 myths and rumors versus what the club was really like behind the velvet ropes, and all those famous friends she hung out with inside - Cher, Brooke Shields, Diana Ross, Andy Warhol and the list goes on and on and on. Nikki’s nightlife status led to The Nikki Haskell show which was broadcast live from Studio 54 where Nikki interviewed all the A list celebs inside the famed halls of this Iconic establishment. Nikki also chats about her many inventions providing weight loss options to the rich and famous - think Star Cruncher - and her new Star Shooterz invention providing a new and unique way to take Selfies! Sign us up! We chat with Nikki about the effects her show had on the origins of Reality TV, what Reality TV she watches now and some of the friends she has that have appeared on Reality TV - Kathy Hilton, Paris Hilton, Josh Flagg, Sonja Morgan, to name a few. Nikki knows EVERYONE and we mean everyone. We chat about that and her star studded series of Birthday Parties for her 80th earlier this year which read like a whose who of Hollywood elite. Finally, we chat with Nikki about her secret to looking and acting eternally young. One thing is for sure, Nikki is not slowing down anytime soon. @bignikbh @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef Bonus Episodes Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope Brought to you by APPLE LEISURE GROUP - https://www.applevacations.com/BTVR ($75 Off Your Stay at Live Aqua in Cancun or Punta Cana - Enter Promo Code “SAND75”) Brought to you by BETTER HELP - https://www.betterhelp.com/velvetrope (10% Off First Month - Use Code "velvet rope") Merch Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. is bothering me terribly. But I still have the same apartment that I lived in 50 years

ago in New York City. Right. I'm not a girl who likes to change around a light as you can tell.

1:10.8

I mean, I'm assuming your apartment's on the Upper East Side, right? I've just made up that back story for you. No, no, I live on 68th Street.

Okay. Do you, do you miss New York these days because you don't get back as much?

1:23.8

1:31.8

projects that are sort of keeping me here. But I have no problem. I get on the red eye, I get right into New

1:51.8

And I moved to Los Angeles when I was about 13.

1:54.8

How was growing up in Beverly Hills? What was that?

1:57.8

It was absolutely. It was like living in a movie set. You know, I went to Beverly Hills High School and the basketball court opened up and there was a swimming pool underneath. I mean, it was very cool.

2:09.8

It's not a great place to grow up.

2:12.8

The Beverly Hills High School was like just like that. You see it in the movies. You know, I used to work, you know, big felt skirts with poodles on them.

2:21.8

And you know, it was it was really a great time to grow up. I mean, the worst thing that you could have done in my day was like smoke a cigarette, you know, in school or something.

2:29.8

Nobody did drugs. I mean, maybe they did them, but I mean, it wasn't, you know, something that everybody I didn't know anybody that did drugs until I got my shoulder.

2:39.8

But it was great growing up in Beverly Hills. Actually, the interesting thing about Beverly Hills is if you grow up here, the people that are here are still here.

2:48.8

Like friends, if you grow up other places, all your friends move away. They all move to Beverly Hills.
