1:00.6	Nithya I'm so excited to talk to you. First of all, I have to get some very boring and simple questions out of the way.
1:09.2	You are an L.A. City Council member. Yes. What does that mean? I'm gonna start extremely basic and we'll work our way off
1:21.0	Well in L.A. City you have a mayor and you have 15 council members that govern the city
1:26.0	The city has four million people the county has 10 million people. So this is just L.A. City
1:30.6	And so each council member represents a district that's about 250,000 residents each which is a huge number
1:37.7	Yeah, and we have actually the largest
1:42.3	Staff members of any California offices. I have about 24 staff members in our office
1:49.2	And the reason we have so many staff is because we do two kinds of things we do both
1:55.1	constituent services
1:57.1	In our district so we try and help people with broken sidewalks with tree trimming with finding rental assistance with
2:05.3	Connecting to the EDD
2:07.3	If they are benefits are not coming through so we do that kind of basic constituent services work
2:12.0	And we also have a legislative function where the city council comes together and makes policy for the city of Los Angeles
