It's a really great article. CNN did a very thorough investigation

in contacting all these different agencies around the country

and figuring out how many rape kits they destroyed

and with what time since been having the evidence in their custody

they've been destroying them.

So when you get a rape kit, when you consent to a rape kit,

nurses interview you, they search your body for evidence

left behind by the attacker and they ask you questions like,

did he ejaculate inside you? Did he lick you? Did he use any objects?

And a CNN investigation found that police trashed evidence

from rape kits in 400 cases before the statute of limitations expired.
