We will be in Scripture today, 1 Corinthians chapter 6, looking at some powerful passages about fleeing immorality,

and particularly, however you define immorality or whatever it might look like in your life,

eliminating self-deceptive excuses that often paved the way for continuing

in it. This is a follow-up to a lesson I delivered in Lindale about a week ago. The elders here have

selected a 2025 theme. This is our first year to try this, and they chose living moral in an immoral world.

And when they told me about it and asked for a lesson each month that moved that theme along,

my mind immediately went to 1st Corinthians 6 versus 9 through 20.

The way I figure it, a lot of the things I'll say this year on that topic will not resonate

with folks, we'll all forget most of it, but if they could at least understand one central

passage really well, and whenever you hear the word immorality or moral living, you're immediately

drawn back to it, then I think it will be a successful project. It really was not my intention at any point

of preparing or presenting that lesson for it to become an ESM episode, but the point at the end

of that chapter is so crucial. It really unlocks progress and strength in everything that you do.

And of course, as you'll see, morality and immorality

goes beyond just the sexual parameters
