Health is more than a feature of an individual isolated organism.

It's woven into the environments through which we live and it's dependent on creatures far smaller than we can see,

as well as structures far bigger than we can imagine.

And it's more than just the product of the present moment

or how well you've been eating in the last few weeks.

It's about anticipation of the future

and the long stinging tales of stress and trauma or even much further back

into the historical past that built those environments and built our bodies in them.

This episode in Navarro FM first aired back in August 2022 features

Rupert Maria and Raj Patel in conversation with Alan Appening. Now further

from the heat of the COVID pandemic, this conversation is no less relevant and perhaps even more generative,

but some of us are able to step back from the intense emergency of those years,
