All right, turn with me in your Bibles to Exodus chapter 13. Exodus 13.

We are going to look at three different places tonight.

Where we see a people at the edge that is everything we're doing here this weekend.

Now, I just want to ask you a question because it will help me so much. Could anybody,

you don't have to say which one, but could any of you relate to any of those edges,

anybody in this room on any kind of edge, any kind of edge at all? I think that we're going to see

then in one way or another, all of us are parked somewhere right on the edge and we're going to see

what God wants to do with it. Exodus chapter 13, I want to read you verses 17 through 20. It says this,

when Pharaoh let the people go, this is the people of God that have been held in captivity and

have been enslaved by the Egyptians for 400 years, when Pharaoh let the people go, God did not

lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter,

for God said if they faced war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt,

verse 18. So God led the people around the desert road toward the Red Sea and the Israelites

went up out of Egypt armed for battle. That will become important to us, not only tonight,

but also tomorrow. They went up out of Egypt armed for battle. Moses took the bones of Joseph

with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear on oath, he had said, God will surely

come to your aid. And then you must carry my bones up with you from this place. And after leaving

Sukkhoff, they camped at Eitham on the edge of the desert. Let's read a little further, by day the

Lord went ahead of them and a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night and a pillar

of fire to give them light so that they could travel by night or by day. Neither the pillar of
