One wrong turn down a road can turn someone into a victim.

On March 27, 1975, a woman's body was found along an infamous

stretch of highway in Queensland, known for its dangers. So if you like your coffee hot, but your

bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a morning cup of murder. On the afternoon of March 21, 1975,

married couple Noel Milton Weckert and Sophia Janine Weckert

departed Townsville in Queensland

with plans to make their way to the Capricorn Coast Village of Emu Park

where Noel was going skydiving. However, before they could

ever get there, it is believed that the couple pulled over somewhere between the towns of Serena

and Marlborough, right along the Connors River, to take a short break when someone approached them,

Noel was shot, and Sophia was abducted.

His body was found by a passing truck driver on March 22nd at around 6 a.m.

And after arriving at the scene and assessing the situation, the local police released a statement

claiming the man was brutally shot twice at close range somewhere between

4 and 4.30 a.m. while still seated in the driver's seat of his vehicle and strapped in with his

seatbelt. They also stated their belief that Sophia was abducted by her husband's killer,

and the search for the missing woman began in full force.
