Summary

Dennis Rader, aka the BTK Killer, brutalized the Wichita, KS area with a series of vicious murders throughout the 1970s. This is the story of a woman who barely managed to escape his wrath with a single stroke of luck. But a few months later, the killer returned with a terrifying message.

Hey everybody welcome to today's episode of Cold Case Murder Mini. I'm your MC Ryan Kraus and up on stage right at this moment is

Dennis Rader better known as the BTK killer which of course meant that he liked to

bind torture and kill people all around the Wichita, Kansas area.

And that's a habit that began to garner attention with the frightening attack on the Otero family

in 1974, but by 1979 had landed him in the home of an unsuspecting widow, Anna Williams, who had no idea Dennis was stalking her with the intention of murder.

So Dennis creeps to her home in darkness one evening and cuts the phone line outside.

He waits for her to arrive, but as the hours pass, he becomes enraged with her tardiness and although he continues to wait he ultimately

decide she's not going to come home so Dennis snatches up a handful of items from around the

house just enough to let Anna know someone was there, but not to rob her.

It was more personal. It was intimate, and when she saw her bedroom door open after remembering it was shut

But the phone line was dead. So she hurries to a neighbor's house and has them call the cops. Now, the police

arrived to find the extent of the wrongdoing is only some missing items of little monetary

value. So they basically file a report and call it a day.

And that was the end of that. Or was it? You see, BTK sent Anna Williams a letter in the mail several months later.

Yet there was also a poem from a vicious and infamous monster, one who still longed for that night when he planned
