Hewitt is off, I'm your host, Shihab Khan. It's been an interesting day to say the least.

The Equality's and Human Rights Commission has released its long-awaited report into the allegations

of anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. The report was highly critical

and found the Labour had acted unlawfully, pointing out three major breaches. Harassment,

political interference and complaints where they found 23 examples of Jeremy Corbyn's office

inappropriately getting involved and failure to provide adequate training to those handling anti-Semitism

complaints.

Jeremy Corbyn responded to the report by accepting there had been a problem, but said it was

dramatically overstated by his opponents.

He was then, in what was an incredible turn of events, fairly swiftly suspended from the party.

The man who was leader only six or seven months

ago who is standing as the party's candidate for Prime Minister in the last election is

for now at least no longer one of the party's MPs. Later we will be joined by former Labour

MP and current adviser to the government on anti-Semitism John Mann. But first, Robert

Pester and ITV's political editor is here with me.

It's an utterly damning report.

What is the significance of all of this?

Well, it is momentous.

I mean, you know, the Equality and Human Rights Commission actually set up by our Labour government,
