Being human means we feel.

I believe all emotions are there to tell us something, but sometimes maybe by not wanting to feel them, they have to get louder and louder and louder and then it can feel that they're really pushing us around.

Shona McPherson is a life coach and counsellor based in the Highlands. She believed that spending

time in the outdoors can be very helpful with dealing with things like anxiety and depression.

Or sometimes our thinking is just off balance or unhelpful.

So then we're thinking, ruminating, and that's causing feelings that don't actually kind of fit the situation or facts.

Being able to step out of mind a little bit, get more into body, we can get more in relationship with all the feelings

and become aware of are we having unhelpful thoughts?

Not to get in a fight with that thought, but can I unhook from it?

Can I have some more space and realise that other thoughts available to me?

It's our natural space, actually. This is where humankind spent more of their time than indoors.
