You know, most people I know would like to own an all-electric

vehicle. At the very least, they're curious, especially this month with gas prices edging upward

after the drone attack on two major oil fields in Saudi Arabia. That attack disrupted oil

supplies more than any other oil-related event in history, even the 1979 Iranian Revolution,

according to USA Today. So it's pretty likely we'll see gas prices continue to rise, at least in the

short term, and even if it is a temporary hike, drivers are showing more and more interest in zero-emission

transportation. But oh, the sticker shock. The lowest-priced

electric cars in the U.S. start around $30,000. A Tesla Model 3, that's the cheap one, starts at $35,000.

The luxury model S starts at about $75,000. Even if you can get a federal or state tax credit, these prices are out of

range for many people, and electric vehicles won't get a groundswell globally until prices come down.
