I'm standing in the grocery store like picking up cheese in the cheese section and like this negative voice that just plagued me my whole life rises up again and I said, you you know piece of shit.

I literally started the screaming in the middle of the grocery store.

Shut the fuck up! You will not talk to me that way! You know? And that's what I have to do for several years to quiet that voice down, but quiet down it did.

It did.

And I very rarely, if ever, a year from it anymore.

In today's episode, I chat with my very good friend Aaron Tyler, who is the creative

director at Scribe Media and has designed book covers for Ryan Holiday, David Goggins, James Altiture, and many more.

She's also one of the nicest people I know in the whole world.

But she had a secret.

She had a very challenging childhood and upbringing that's sad and also extremely relatable.

She wrote a book about it called The Bad One. I read it and wow it is dark,

interesting, and also helpful. This is a real powerful and uplifting episode of loving yourself, healing post-trauma, and a smile.
