Summary

Patti LuPone has always been known as one of the highest-key divas on Broadway - pausing shows mid-performance to call out audience members for being on their phones, and beefing with Madonna and Trump alike. But of all the feuds she’s participated in, nothing tops her decades-long rivalry with former collaborator and musical legend Andrew Lloyd Webber. Known as one of theater’s biggest feuds of all time, this spat will take us through iconic show recasts, a million dollar lawsuit, and even the construction of “The Andrew Lloyd Webber Memorial Pool”, a literal pool Patti commissioned in her backyard just to spite the composer. Let’s take a deeper look at these two Broadway stars and see just went down in one of drama’s biggest dramas.
