The wait for two verdicts felt long.

When both juries were finished deliberating, the court would notify the attorneys, family

members, and media representatives by email, with only a 40 minute window to get back to

the courtroom.

It was short enough notice that leaving the area felt risky, and with only 10 media badges

available to get a seat in the courtroom, most of us decided to stay in the hallway.

Many of the reporters present had other stories to work on, typing furiously on their laptops

and contorting into impossible shapes to stay near one of the few wall outlets.

But nobody was immune to the suspense.

So you're nervous.

You know, we were all nervous.

It's a lot of just downtime and drinking another cup of coffee.
