0:32.1	So can you begin by telling us what inspired you to have a baby with someone you weren't intimate

0:39.3	Yeah, so I had just finished writing my first book, The New Rules of Sex, and it had really set me free from this idea that my life was going to begin once I found this perfect romantic relationship, which was what I had been looking for, you know, ever since like I was what five and so here
0:54.4	I was 30 and I'm like wait I don't have to wait for a relationship anymore to be
0:58.6	happy I can just enjoy whatever's coming along one night night stands, two months, whatever it is,
1:04.5	polyamory, but I want a baby.
1:06.6	So how do I go about that?
1:08.1	So I thought, well, since I don't need a relationship from my life,
1:10.7	I can just choose to have a baby so I went to sperm banks and started
1:14.4	looking up sperm bank profiles and it just struck me that I didn't want to have a
1:20.4	baby that didn't have a father.
1:22.7	It just for me personally, that's what I felt.
1:25.5	And from being in LA and in the dating scene,
1:28.5	I knew that men wanted babies just as much as women do.
1:31.9	And I think there's kind of this idea that women want babies and men. babies just
1:35.0	find some dude that women want babies and men don't but men want to be fathers very much
