Everyone's been waiting to see when T.J. Watt is going to sign his extension.

But what if I told you the rumors out that not only is he going to sign his extension after this next preseason game against the Panthers on Friday, but also it's going to make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.

We're going to talk about if that's the right move to make him paid that high and discuss what that's going to do to the Steelers salary cap moving forward.

And, you know, maybe it's just going to relieve some anxiety for Steelers fans out there.

topic here is none other than T.J. Watt arguably, I'd say even passed arguably, the Steelers best player. And the whole talk

that has been all throughout training camp, when is T.J. going to sign his extension? Because

he hasn't practiced. He hasn't played in any preseason games. But at the same time,

if you're listening to what the team's saying, they're kind of okay with it because this

is a guy who makes his plays. He's been a superstar player for years now. They trust him to get

better and they're not worried about if he's going to be ready for the season opener.

It's just a matter of getting the ink down on paper and getting him signed. But Jerry

Doolock of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette coming out earlier this, earlier this week,
