Summary

It's been a busy few weeks for the Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

There's been the damning report into London's Metropolitan Police, questions over the Government's plans to reduce crossings in the Channel, and just as schools begin to break-up for the Easter holidays, back-to-back queues are affecting the Port of Dover.

The Home Secretary speaks to Sophy about all these issues, plus her plans to introduce a new legal duty for people working with children to report "signs or suspicions" of sexual abuse.

For Labour, shadow housing and communities secretary Lisa Nandy tells Sophy why she believes the Government hasn't properly prepared for a post-Brexit Britain.

Plus, the employment minister and Conservative MP for Hexham, Guy Opperman, tells the programme why he wants better maternity care, and support for parents who experience child loss.

Now, before we begin, we'd love it if you subscribe to our podcast because we're here every Sunday with all the

politics you need for the week ahead. It's been a big week for us because we had the Home Secretary

and it's one of these things where you feel a certain amount of responsibility as an interviewer on weekends like this because frankly we don't get the opportunity to talk

to her very much indeed. We, I can't remember the last time I spoke to her, but it was certainly

not as Home Secretary. So you do really kind of, I guess, think about the interviews a bit more

than usual. I think I'll probably write three different versions and I guess I was trying to work out what to go on because there's

so much to talk about. The difficulty is what do you leave out rather than what do you leave in?

1:54.2

Absolutely. I think when you're looking at a department like the Home Office, there's just so much
