Part 7 of our deep dive into the Plato Dialogue The Republic. Let me start with with well let's go there. I'll start with you Dr. O'Toole, 413D. So we must watch

them straight from childhood by setting them a task in which a man would most likely forget and be deceived out of such a

conviction and the man who has a memory and is hard to be deceived must be chosen

and the one who's not must be rejected.

It goes, I mean, it gets very extraordinarily detailed

in how parents aren't going to raise their children.

The city's going to raise their children.

It's sort of like the

progressive isn't it? Yeah I mean kind of the the point that my father-in-law is

making is that the Republic is an experiment in political idealism.
