And this weekend next, we're going to do two more parts, and then in January we're going to finish.

But we are joined by President of Hillsdale College, Dr. Larry Arne, and Professor of Political Theory at Hillsdale College, Dr. Daniel O'Toole.

Dr. Daniel O'Toole, I have two questions to begin with you.

The first is, what do you do with slow students like me?

Because I have been wrestling

with some of book eight and my head hurts. Book six I got through, book seven, book eight

made my head hurt. And I just want, what do you do with slow students? I mean, they're trying,

but they're just, they're not getting it. Well, uh, I don't know if you're a slow student, Hugh.

You know, you have to make the discussion relevant to the students by connecting the problems that are discussed to real political regimes and especially our own circumstances.

And I think book eight is one that most of the students at the college really love to read and discuss

because it turns out the discussion of democracy run amok, of oligarchy, of factionalism,

of the drones, the idol class, and, of course, of tyrants is extremely

relevant to our political circumstances. And the students get that, and they see that.
