Where as we speak

Russia is facing some of the biggest anti-government rallies in years and we're talking from

all over the country from Russia's Far East Siberia to Moscow to St. Petersburg.

Tens of thousands of Russians are right now rallying in support of the jailed opposition leader Alexi Navalny

right now as we speak in the biggest nationwide showdown in years between the

Russian authorities and critics of the Kremlin.

Of course, you know who Alexi Navalny is if you've listened to this podcast anytime within the last

year or so he's the dissident leader who was poisoned had to be dropped into a

foreign country to be treated when he fell ill mid-flight. You guys remember all that. Now the protests

largely drew young Russians and did not immediately pose a dire threat to

President Vladimir Putin, but their broad scope is signaling widespread

fatigue with the corruption-plagged political order that Mr Putin has presided over for two decades.

And we're talking all over the country.
