It's early on a September morning in Stony Point, New York, about an hour north of New York City.

39-year-old Tammy Palmer walks her two children up her driveway to the main road where a bus

picks them up for school, something she does every morning. As she heads back down to her house,

a shot rings out from the woods next to the driveway, and then a second shot.

Tammy feels a sharp pain in her left wrist and grabs her hand. Realizing she's now bleeding,

she stumbles to the door of her house, but it's locked. Trailing blood she then runs to the back
