People have argued that we live in a post-truth society, but there is no such thing actually as post-truth thinking.

Truth is fundamental to our, so the idea of thought, that's what thinking is, the attempt to get the true answer to something.

So if you discard truth, there is nothing left except the pursuit of power.

Back in 2018, I made a podcast called Hoax. It focused on stories of deceptions. Some were

whimsical. Others weren't. In the years since, I've begun work on a new season multiple times.

But each time I start digging into something, reality seems to break. The world that once made

sense no longer does. Before long, the hoax stories that I covered not too long ago seem

to become relics of a bygone era, replaced by a new epic of craziness.

America has shifted from a nation that, while always wrestling with bias and propaganda,

largely valued shared facts, to one where objective truth is increasingly subjective,

shaped by ideology, emotion, and digital echo chambers.

The term post-truth refers to a societal condition where personal beliefs, political narratives,

and emotions hold more weight than verifiable reality, eroding trust in institutions, journalism,

and even science.

This transformation is fueled by misinformation, media fragmentation, and the speed of social media,

making it easier than ever to manipulate perception.

In a post-truth society, facts become secondary to what people want to be true, leading

to polarization, cynicism, and the breakdown of constructive discourse.

Understanding this shift is critical because when truth is no longer agreed

upon, democracy itself, built on informed decision-making, begins to fracture. In the upcoming
