Spartans, what do you do when the cameras are not rolling?

Spartans, welcome back to another episode of the Spartan Way Podcast.

I'm your host, Zach Everneshesh coming to you from beautiful Pittsfield Vermont.

I love it here and what I want to talk to you about today is an experience I had this past week

I was coming out of a store and a young guy opened up the door

for me as I was leaving and I said thanks a lot buddy said have a great day, sir. I said I will, I appreciate that.

And as I walked out, I said to myself, wow, it's been a while since a young guy looked like he was in his early

20s acted in such a professional manner and he wasn't even

at work and I saw that he had a car, looked like he worked for some sort of a car business,

whether he was a mechanic or one of the mechanics

at the auto body place, I saw that this guy was out of work, yet he was practicing his excellence.

So the things that he does at work, opening doors for people, being polite, being well-mannered saying have a great day.

He was doing it when he wasn't even at work and it was super inspiring to me and actually

refreshing to me and it makes me think about times that I've spent with Joe, our leader here at

Spartan when the cameras aren't rolling, he's always walking faster than me.

He's still waking up early.

He's doing his 300 burpees and his rope climbs.

He's, you know, his kids may have had ice cream,

but he didn't eat the ice cream.

And it just inspires the heck at me to see

what people do when the cameras aren't rolling. Now the flip side of that is to say listen we are not perfect. It's always progress over

perfection. So whatever it is that you do at work don't just do it the 9 to 5 or the 8 to 4 or the 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
