Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people the Word of God. We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the word is alive and active.

I want to go with you to a historical narrative of a very strange man called John the Baptist.

You and I throughout the course of our weekend together

are gonna study this one man's life.

And I gotta tell you something,

I have never studied him before I've only

studied him when we've come upon him and whatever I happen to be preparing at the time if it was a

the Gospel of Luke for Jesus the one and only, then he came up during the process of that particular series.

But by himself from beginning to end studying every single detail about him,

which is not what we have time to cover together this

week and you will be relieved to know. But as I have looked at this life it began

pressing on me about a month ago and I had no idea whether it would turn

out for you or not. I just knew that I was compelled to go back and read on that life over and over again and it was a hundred times more fascinating than I expected it to be.

When I'm going to ask you to do,

if you will allow me to tonight,

I give you my word because I know

where God's word is going through the course of the weekend that if there are times

when you have to stick with with a few moments that are historical and that are tedious

but they are and heady.
