Hey, everybody welcome to campaign HQ. So one interesting political development I wanted to talk about in the midst of the pandemic is Justin Amash, congressman from Michigan, frequent Trump critic has announced

his intention to run for president. A lot of immediate

reactions to that I think in part colored by what happened in 2016 where the

combination of Gary Johnson and Jill Stein votes was no doubt a contributing factor

to Hillary Clinton losing.

I think it's far too early to jump to the conclusion that this is 100% negative for Biden. We're going to need

some more time, some more data. Maybe at the end of the day Amush doesn't run and

ends up supporting Biden and that's going to

based on the state. Obviously, he's from Michigan,

so that's going to require a lot of study and attention.

Maybe different in Florida, different in Arizona.

But at the end of the day, if you're the Biden campaign,

you know, if you're going to win the presidency, you have to surmount every obstacle thrown in front of you. So you got to study this

carefully, but even if it's not a hundred percent

negative for Biden, maybe it's more mixed. Really having a good strategy for

voters who may be torn between Biden and Trump and now look at Amash as a landing place.

Those that might have leaned Biden, you know, you're going to have to have a strategy to speak

to them and reach out to them and vice versa.

So I wouldn't panic yet. I think there's a lot more data that we need to look at.

But if you're the Biden campaign, a good presidential campaign panics about everything.

So they're going to have to have a strategy and execute on that.
