The show where two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite noobs. Choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Oshman, and today we are discussing Prince of Darkness from 1987, directed and written by John Carpenter, starring Donald Pleasance, Victor Wong, Jameson Parker, and Lisa Blunt with a cameo from Alice Cooper.

In this film, a group of students is recruited by their professor and a priest to study a mysterious liquid that's been hidden away for millennia by the Catholic Church.

If you're new to the show, we're going to discuss some background info around the movie for the first

15 or 20 minutes. But after that, we're going to transition into spoiler mode. We're going to

walk through the plot in detail and review the film. We're going to play some transition music

before we get into spoiler mode. So if you hear the transition music and you haven't seen the

movie, time to duck out and go watch it. And I apologize, people.

I said on our socials that this was streaming on Peacock, and it was when I said that, but then it was immediately not.

I proclaimed that on October 31st, and they dropped it after October.

Well, we were kicking this movie around because it was on a request list and we felt, you know, it kind of has some Halloween-type vibes, just in that it's creepy.

And apparently Peacock thought so as well because they dropped

it after Halloween was over and uh the distributor distributor thought it as well universal because

it was released in october october 23rd of 1987 so i guess we weren't the only ones that felt

it had a Halloween vibe.

Yeah, interesting Halloween.
