Recently, the state of Alabama approved a measure that would outlaw almost all abortions

in the state, and that sets up a challenge to row versus way, the Supreme Court case,

that recognized a woman's constitutional right to end a pregnancy.

In 2015, we sat down with our dear friend, the recently departed Rachel Held Evans,

to talk about abortion, pro-life, pro-choice, the ethics, morality, spirituality, and life

implications of a woman's right to choose, and a fetus's right to live.

I actually think this episode aged pretty well.

I think we avoided the really charged polarization to get at the heart of the issue, and so I thought

for folks wrestling with what abortion means today in our legal framework, how to best

advocate for and support women, and indeed also how to truly care for human children.

So today we're discussing an issue that has had a lot of press lately and is one of the

most polarized divisive emotional scary topics to discuss for me anyway.

It goes to the heart of what people believe it means to be a human being, and to be a sovereign

individual in the United States that has freedoms.

It's talking about abortion and goodness gracious, not an easy topic to talk about.

So Mike and I have had some discussion about it.
