It's always been the objective of the Relief Society since 1842 to bring the relief of Jesus Christ,

both temporal and spiritual to our sisters and brothers around the world.

And this is a meaningful piece of that privilege and responsibility we have as His Covenant Children

to look after and bless the lives of those that are around us.

But this temporal and spiritual always go hand in hand.

It's not just about filling bellies, it's about filling hearts and people feeling the

love of our Savior.

And I think that as I seek to exemplify him, I feel the love of my Savior and my Heavenly Father.

This March marks the 182nd anniversary of the Organization of Release Society of the Church

of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

When the Relief Society was organized on March 17, 1842, Emma Smith, the church's first

Relief Society president, said, we are going to do something extraordinary. We expect extraordinary

occasions and pressing calls. To commemorate the purpose and founding of the

Relief Society, a worldwide Relief Society devotional will be held on Sunday, March 17th. Local

ward and stake release societies will gather together to hear a message from President Russell

M. Nelson and the Relief Society General Presidency.

The Presidency, President Camille N. Johnson, Sister J. Annette Dennis, and Sister Kristen

M. Yee, joined this episode of the Church News podcast, recorded at Welfare Square in Salt Lake
