Thank you Liz. As Liz mentioned, today is a triumphant day with survivors standing together

to launch the Adult Survivors Act in New York. The Adult Survivors Act, or ASA, would open up a

one-year look back window for survivors of sexual assault in the state of New York,

temporarily eliminating the statute of limitations. As it was, victims only had a few years to file

civil suits to hold their abusers and the institutions around them accountable.

This bill validates what all survivors know, that processing trauma from sexual violence takes time,

that outing sexual predators takes time. My former OBGYN Robert Haddon is just one example.
