1:00.5	the launch of the one-year look back window in the Adult Survivors Act.
1:06.0	For almost three years, they've been part of a coalition fighting to get the New York State
1:11.2	legislature to pass the Adult Survivors Act. So now I want to turn it over to two of the
1:17.3	survivors who fought so valiantly to get us to this moment. Evelyn Yang and Marissa Hucksteader.
1:24.2	Thank you Liz. As Liz mentioned, today is a triumphant day with survivors standing together
1:34.0	to launch the Adult Survivors Act in New York. The Adult Survivors Act, or ASA, would open up a
1:41.1	one-year look back window for survivors of sexual assault in the state of New York,
1:46.2	temporarily eliminating the statute of limitations. As it was, victims only had a few years to file
1:53.1	civil suits to hold their abusers and the institutions around them accountable.
1:58.9	This bill validates what all survivors know, that processing trauma from sexual violence takes time,
2:06.8	that outing sexual predators takes time. My former OBGYN Robert Haddon is just one example.
