Summary

The House Oversight Committee wrapped up its investigation into climate disinformation earlier this month and published a second tranche of revealing internal documents that spell out exactly how the world's largest oil companies have misled the public on their commitments to energy transition. One of the people who spearheaded that investigation, Representative Ro Khanna, joins us to discuss.

0:08.0	The House Oversight Committee has wrapped up its investigation into climate disinformation.
0:14.4	They haven't released their final report yet, but they have put out a memo and they have
0:19.0	also published the last batch of documents from the subpoenas that went out in this investigation.
0:26.3	In the first batch and this batch there are about 1500 pages of internal emails,
0:31.7	strategy documents, and memos from the oil majors and the American petroleum institute.
0:37.0	And they tell a really interesting story.
0:39.4	For me as someone who spends a lot of time looking at these kinds of documents from the last
0:44.9	hundred years or so, what's really striking is just how little the industry's strategy has
0:50.5	actually changed in the last decades.
