Dr Helen is the co-founder and CEO of Hertility, and is a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics and a leading expert in reproductive science. She has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from UCL. Her research focuses on pre-implantation embryo development and the use of CRISPR genome editing to assess understanding and treatment of disorders of infertility.

Why Hertility was born…

For too long, women have been dismissed by the healthcare system. Their bodies are ’too complicated’ to understand and their health conditions remain ‘elusive’. So, we’re revolutionising reproductive healthcare and putting women front and centre of everything we do.

By bringing reproductive science out of the lab and into the hands of every single woman worldwide, we’re setting a new standard of scientific rigour and education in female health to nurture the Mother of all movements - one powered by a new generation of women who back their bodies and their life choices.

0:55.8	for this conversation. Honestly, I think there's so much. I almost thought before you came today,
1:01.1	last week I was prepping, I thought, where do I start? Because I suppose where I'm at, you know,
1:06.2	I'm 36-year-old woman, I have got a lot of friends who are either mid-30s, early 30s, late 30s,
1:11.8	some 40s and some 20s. But I think there's a lot of conversation in my peer group right now
1:17.1	about, you know, people having their first or people thinking that they, if they're not with
1:21.1	someone like, oh gosh, how long have I got biological clock ticking all of that. And I'm also, because I had my son when I was 23, so, and you know,
1:29.4	got divorced. And I now have also other friends, mum friends who are going through menopause.
1:33.7	I've got other friends who are going through divorces and blended families. So there's just so much,
1:37.9	I think, when it comes to the topic of female fertility. And it just, just just touched there's so many touch points I think within within all of our lives so I have a lot of questions but before we dive into them I
