And we're going to be talking today about an very interesting book, the title of which

is Inner Engineering, a yogi's Guide to Joy.

And it is good so far.

So I'm just going to start by reading an excerpt to just get an idea of where we're going here.

So author says, quote, guru literally means dispeller of darkness.

The function of the guru, contrary to popular belief, is not to teach, indoctrinate, or convert.

The guru is here to throw light on dimensions beyond your sensory perceptions and your psychological drama, dimensions that you are currently unable to perceive. The groove here fundamentally to throw light

on the very nature of your existence. Pretty potent lines there. And I've been talking recently to a number of people about really, you know, I think

economics gets into a lot of this that there's dimension beyond what we can see, what we can

sense, you know, even Bastia wrote about this a long time ago, the scene and the unseen.

And in many ways, understanding the world and understanding economics is to give primacy to the unseen.

You know, what we see is largely just emergent from unseen principles and things.

So yeah, I'd love to hear your perspective on this word guru.

I didn't know that, actually, that the word guru was defined as dispelor of darkness.

Yeah.

Well, I would love to add on to what you're saying, too, because the part in there where he talks about to dispel your psychological drama, that is the market. The market is a psychological drama. It is truly like human emotion personified into numbers on a screen. And I think as a trader in a Qantas, you begin to realize that it is just a number on a screen.

And you have to detach yourself from any kind of emotion to that number, whether it's up, down, wherever it may go, if you allow it to control you, then you're
