Welcome to another episode of Why You Laughing, a history of comedy podcast.

And today, I'm pleased to introduce to you, Richard Jenny.

For some people, I may actually be introducing him.

This is one of the more obscure guys we've talked about,

although I think if you're of a certain era and you were a true comedy fan, you probably remember

Richard Jenny, and you've certainly heard him referenced over the years. But I thought this

would be an interesting idea for an episode because a lot of people have suggested Richard Jenny.

I would say one of the more frequent obscure suggestions we get.

You know, like obviously everyone says like do Carlin.

But like of the smaller names, Richard Jenny, Ralphie May, those seem to come up a lot.

And I think Richard Jenny is an interesting case because he's a guy who was purely a club

comic and never really got the success he wanted.

But if we're talking about the history of comedy, that's what comedy was built on for so
