At just after 8 p.m. on November 8th, 1994, Darren and Laura Holscher heard a gunshot in

their neighborhood.

When they looked outside, they saw their neighbor, Farah Fraudah, scream and fall to the ground

in her garage.

Then they watched as an unmasked man approached her and shot her point plank in the head.

They called 911, but despite a quick response from police, the gunman was gone by the time

they arrived.

Others had no clue who would have wanted Farah Dad, but it wouldn't take long for people

to start making suggestions, and they were all suggesting the same person.

Moving to another country was not easy for Farah Bakker.

She'd lived most of her childhood in the same neighborhood and had known all of her friends

and even her fiance since she was young.

The thought of leaving them behind was daunting, but the idea of her entire family leaving

her was more worrisome.

At 19, she had the option to stay in London with her grandmother, but her father talked

her into giving the United States a try.

Her father, Lex, was a businessman who wanted to move to America to see if it was easier

to run his business there than in London, which was becoming less affordable with each

passing year.

Lex had family in Ohio, but his wife, Betty, said Ohio was too cold.

Lex loved old western movies and horses, so he decided to move to Texas.
