0:25.2	Well, several years ago a guy by the name of Steve Callahan after a terrible boating accident
0:29.9	was lost at sea by himself in a little rubber life raft for 76 days, two and a half months,
0:36.8	alone in a little raft, somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. And so he started starving to death,
0:42.2	became emaciated, got dazed, disoriented, and yet in the middle of all that, he had the sense
0:47.6	to take three pencils and lash them together and create a sextant, which is a nautical tool you can
0:55.2	use to get your bearings by measuring the distance between the sun and the horizon. And so it was
1:01.1	based on his understanding of these fixed realities in the universe, he was able to discern what
1:07.6	latitude and a line he was on on the globe. And then he paddled into the right current
1:13.6	and floated safely into the Caribbean and had a nice vacation because it's lovely there, right?
1:18.3	And he wrote a best-selling book and he's doing fine, right? Now why tell you that story?
1:24.3	For this reason, it was his understanding of fixed realities about the universe that helped him
1:31.6	navigate the uncertain waters of his life. Well, and you go, why bring that up? Because this morning,
1:38.8	I want to show you two fixed realities about the universe that are true for all of us,
1:44.7	that if you can get your mind around them, understand them, they're going to help you navigate
1:49.8	your life, whatever season of life you might be in. And the first reality is this, that there is
1:55.8	a tendency in us to resist the leadership of God. Though we're all made in God's image,
2:02.9	that we're made to walk with him, be a part of what he's doing, there's a tendency in us to
2:08.2	resist the leadership of God, to run from him. And it doesn't make any sense, to pursue life
