Hey everybody welcome back to cold case murder mysteries. I'm your host

Ryan Kraus returning once again to examine violent crimes and the perpetrators who commit them.

In this episode, we're breaking from the norm and taking a look at a current case that just unfolded back on November 13, 2022, in which

four University of Idaho students were brutally murdered in an off-campus home where three of them lived.

So let's go back to the beginning on this one, which is basically just a month prior to the release of this episode.

Here's how it all starts. At 11.58 a.m. on Sunday, November 13th, a 911 call was

made from a home located at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho, which is right outside

the campus of the University of Idaho.

We don't know the specifics of the call or even who made it, but what we can confirm is that the call was made in a context of at least one roommate among six total people being unconscious. The people in the home at the time, at least

as far as we can confirm, would have been the five female roommates who are all students at the university in addition

to the boyfriend of one of those inhabitants.

The roommates are Maddie Mogand 21, Kaylee Gonsalves 21, Zana Kurnodal 20, Dylan Mortenson 19 and Bethany Funk also 19

Zana's boyfriend who spent the night

is 20 year old Ethan Chabin,

the only male in the house.

When the police say the 911 call was in relation to an unconscious person,

our immediate thought is one in which we realized this event was a brutal stabbing.

So bloody in fact that there is a photo online of what we believe is blood

streaking down the concrete foundation of the home outside as though

it leaked from the bedroom crime scene indoors on the second floor.

With so much blood, how could this incident have been misunderstood as somebody being

unconscious rather than dead, or even more specifically murdered.
